Lee Roy Selmon has a story that has a family history of scholarship football with social service. He is the youngest child of Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon. They took care of him at their farm in Eufala. He played football along with three siblings for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. In 1973, Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. The three seasons he was the team's starter, Oklahoma finished 32-1-0 and secured two national championships. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975 and named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon earned a degree in Education. Fourth service In the college Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. He returned to Tampa after college, played for the Buccaneers for nine years and was three-times all-pro. The business venture he started began. In 1988 he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute as a member of the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why he was named one of the top 10 young men in the country in 1982 by the Junior Chamber of Commerce in 1982. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighted 256 lbs. He played for his school's team in the year 1975. He joined University of South Florida in 1993 as an assistant director of sports. In 1988 his induction into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was inducted into it into the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Jr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma gave it to them.
